WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE SCRAPS

Remember this mess?  When I was cleaning and sorting my scraps I managed to fill a 13 gallon trash bag with small pieces of fabric that were just too small to use.  But what to do with them?  I couldn't toss them in the trash.  So I called Chris at the Attic Window Quilt Shop and she told me about Shirley Start.  Shirley takes these scraps and her quilting group, the Revanna Quilters uses them to fill dog beds. They make the beds in various sizes.  Shirley told me that they recently took 10 dog beds to a Vet in Spring Lake.  These beds are for rescue dogs at no kill shelters.  Shirley said they also take large pieces of fleece that are used to wrap kitties in after surgery.  The fleece usually goes to C-Snip.

So, please save your scraps.  I now have two trash cans under my table.  One for trash, and one for the small pieces of fabric that I will give to Shirley's group.  If you have scraps, don't throw them away.  Shirley is at the Attic Window Quilt Shop on Thursdays and you can bring them to her.  What a wonderful way to support a worthy cause.
