LAST MONTH FOR 2013 SAMPLER AT ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

The first 2013 Sampler Class for this month was held Saturday at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Above are the three blocks we will be working on this month.  This is the last of the blocks for this sampler series.  Chris distributed information/instructions for putting the quilt together as well as talked about next year’s Sampler series.
This is a close up of this month’s large block.  This may surprise you what with all those little pieces, but I really like this block.
Above Chris instructed us on how to easily make all those little 1 ½” half square triangles.
Chris also showed us her start on putting the quilt together.  She also gave us an optional layout for those who don’t like to make things on point.

NOTICE:  Chris talked about the Sampler that will be held next year.  She said we would use a new tool and some of the blocks would be quite large.  She said these blocks will be a little bit more difficult and will stretch our skills.   Each participant will have a choice of fabrics: Batik, Civil War, 30s, regular.  You need to sign up for this series and indicate your choice of fabric for this Sampler.  The charge next year will be between $3 and $5 each month, depending on fabric in the kit.  Be sure to sign up for the new Sampler Series ASAP.  As before, there will be various classes offered during each month.
We had some show-n-tell after our class.  Above Robin shows us her door banner.  Isn’t it darling!
Marge made this lovely quilt.  She said it was made from leftover fabrics from a quilt she made for her sister.  Love these fabrics!
Vivian made this adorable snowman quilt.  I believe it was a BOM previously at the shop.  Great job!
Judy R. showed us this attractive table runner.  She does beautiful work.  Look at all the precise piecing.
Judy also made a couple small table toppers.  Look at those perfect points on this one!
And she made this one.  Perfect!
Melanie made this gorgeous table topper.  I forgot to ask if she did the quilting.  It is lovely.

DON'T FORGET: To check the calendar on the sidebar for upcoming classes and events.
  • Marilyn's Folded Star class is Tuesday from 6 - 9 p.m. and she will be teaching the Pineapple Block and Folded Star class on Friday, Dec. 13th, 1-4 p.m.
  • Happy Scrappers meets Wednesday and again on Saturday.  Hope to see you there!
